Happy Birthday baby girl!!
Yesterday you turned one, which is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I can't believe it's been a whole year since the last day I didn't know you. On one hand, it feels like we've been best buddies forever, and on the other hand it feels like you just got here. You walk, talk CONSTANTLY, dance, dance, dance, eat anything we hand you (especially fruit - you're a healthy little baby!), wave and smile at everyone you pass, kiss and hug us all day long and are just overall the smartest, sweetest little girl I've ever met.
I like to joke that you are daddy's dream girl. You like pizza and eggs and LOVE watching sports with him. This is a picture of you two watching hockey today. You really like to be comfortable when you watch sports.
I love seeing the way you and your daddy interact. You really love him and I don't think he could possibly adore another person as much as he adores you. He's a great daddy and a wonderful husband and I know he's setting the bar too high for any guy you ever date (which is exactly the way we want it!).
Everyone says you should be a model, asks if you're always this happy and comments on what a little genius you are. What they don't see is your ridiculous attitude - you are definitely my daughter! You know what you like and there is nothing wrong with that, but I sure can't wait until you can use real words to communicate that to me - I could really do without the screaming and biting. But really, these moments are rare and you are probably the sweetest and most patient baby that ever lived.
Today you played outside with Gary for a few hours, then we all went swimming - you are a little fish but you HATE the rafts. I think you will warm up to them soon, though, as you actually touched one today without screaming. You took three baths... or was it four? Then we ran a quick errand and you fell asleep on the way home - two hours earlier than normal! As I write this it is your bedtime and I really hope you stay asleep! You are a growing girl and need all the rest you can get.
I am so excited to start this second year with you and hope that we can have lots of fun, learn a ton and grow more and more in love every day!
love you Buggie,
Mama
