002.

You really do hate having to play by yourself (or even with mama) when you know there are other people in the house or, worse yet, in the pool.  When Gary went out to swim this afternoon and you had to stay inside because mean old mom thinks you've already had too much sun this weekend, your heart was broken. When I say you bawled I mean you BAWLED. Like, the award for best overly dramatic performance in a mid-day meltdown goes to ...

Before and after that, like usual, you were a dream. Since daddy had to work all day, you and I went to church across town and you made lots of new little friends. Nobody could believe how old you are looking! It's true, too. You have been looking more and more like a toddler - and sometimes even a little girl - lately. It's just not fair! There was a 17 month old boy who was right at your level and you were more than happy to chase him around the foyer. When your new friend Juliet (who is 10 weeks old) was in her carseat waiting to leave, you crouched down to say goodbye and she flashed you a huge smile - her mama and yours were both very excited about this!

We had to run some errands during the afternoon, but eventually we did go swimming and you were all about diving into the water. You even let uncle Brandon "throw" you like he did with Gary. I wish you had a healthy fear of water and weren't so eager to drown yourself in the pool, but I do love seeing how happy you are when you're in the water.

Oh, you tried your first hot wing tonight per your insistence... you liked it? I don't really know. You didn't hate it, but you did throw it.  Daddy missed the reaction but certainly didn't miss the wing that flew past his head when you shuddered and unintentionally tossed it across the living room. You also tried to get daddy's beer but we have to draw the line somewhere, right?

Our days have been busy lately, but I am so happy to spend every day with you - errands, meltdowns, pool parties, everything! You're a blessed little copilot and I just can't get over you.

love you buggie,
mama
